Was told this is a 1929 Chrysler truck. Dont know? The vents don't look like the pics I've seen online of a '29. Is the back supposed to be wood?
The lines on the cowl look Pontiac but the dash and the wide metal behind the windshield dont look like Pontiac. What year can it be?
Looks a lot like mopar around 29. But if it is mopar, it has to be Dodge because they were steel framed, including the lower sills. Chry, Ply and Desoto were wood sills then. One thing that looks like 4 cyl mopar is the lower bracket link on the driver side firewall. It was a vibration damper attached to one rear headbolt. Take a look at the center upper dash medallion. If mopar, that would have had the ID anti-theft number which mopars used back then. If it's not readable at all it can be read from the back if you pried it off, but that would ruin it and ruin 2 of the letters where the spotwelds were. Called a Fedco numbering system. I'd first look on google images to see if you can find those cowl vents on a dodge around 29 or 30
Thanks! I haven't seen the lines on top of the cowl on any mopars? I will check the dash piece. Anyone got any better pics? The google ones don't show what I need to see.
Here is what is said to be a 30 Dodge, and it might be the rarer 8cyl. I can't tell. That could explain the cowl band chrome.
Any more pics guys? What should the rest of the cab look like. Is it a coupe/sedan or a pickup? Looks like a 1930 Dodge according to F&Js pic.
