    This is the intro section.
You should post these questions on the main board. You'll get a lot more answers there. That, and dig in and study the HAMB and do some searches by clicking on the search box toward the top of your screen. There is a lot to be learned here.
    Welcome to the H.A.M.B.,young man.

  6. We'll cut you some slack because of your age. How about you tell us a little more about yourself (car wise). Good luck on your project, lots of usefull information around here. And last but not least, welcome aboard!!

My best advice: learn from others. Join a local car club, look for one with guys who build there own rather than the "deep pocket" crowd who paid a shop to build it. If no clubs in your area, find an old fart or two (like me) and ask for help! We like to pass the torch. I have taught more than one person to weld, to wire, to patch, to paint. Make it cool, but make it safe. Even if its a "rat rod". Use a DUAL master cylinder, so you can stop, even if you break a line. Have a seat belt. Its cooler than getting killed. Mostly, have fun! Your first rod need not be perfect. Dont take the fun out of it by trying to make it perfect. Chances are you will loose interest before it sees the road if you try and make it perfect. Rods are never done, you can always make it better later. My 2 cents worth (and thats about all its worth). Cheers!- Tony AKA BoneDaddy

Welcome from Kentucky. Good luck on your build.

  9. Ask older experienced guys for help. I'd definitely avoid even mentioning anything about rat rods.

Dont loose interest and do not be affraid to ask questions ! and gas fumes and perfumes can mix in small ratios ! No my little brother started on a nova at your age and I finished it and drove it because he had a girl friend that was more fun than his car !!
