I've got my first Model A and I'm gonna HotRod it. Its a 1924 Dodge Sedan. The ***le is from the 20's and its Sooooo Cool that I wanna keep it and frame it! I wanted to know if it would be worth the effort to keep it and go the bonded ***le route? Any experience Professional comments, questions, or contributions would be greatly appreciated! (((especially if anyone knows of an easier method to ***le my car and keep this original that I got))) Thanks to everyone from this board who has helped me get this far! Drew
Most states have gone to the new ***les with hidden imprints in them. Last old ***le I had, the state gave it back to me with the new one. All I had to do was ask.
Is it ***led as a 1924 Dodge Model A? When I ***led my '34, the ***le was from the 60's. I wanted to keep it so they just wrote "void" on it and gave it back to me.
Indiana BMV let me keep the old ***le for my 56 just by asking. The agent made a photocopy for their records.
I'd like to see a ***le for a 1924 Dodge Sedan Model A. If I had one, I'd want to keep it as well! Did I miss something??? Anyway, yes when you register it, ask the nice lady at the DMV (AAA is better for DMV services) if you she can void the back of the do***ent and allow you to keep it for sentimental reasons.
Okay AZ, I called the car something that it is not exactly; my bad. But, thanks for the advice! I'm afraid to try that because there is a chance that she might say no!
For sure man, just busting your balls. I say try it and ask politely. Schmooze the counter person, be charming and tell her it would "Mean a lot to you to keep the do***ent" Stress that you want it as a collectors item and she can even void it out if necessary.
Yep, ask the people at the dmv if you can have it back for display purposes. They will probably stamp it on the front or back but most likely you can get it back.
You can give it a shot. When I did a change of ownership on the coupe I got from my dad, they wouldn't let me keep the original ***le. I did make a copy of it though before I went in, just in case.
