  2. your having a laugh right? guess its another use for a nail but it seems pretty excessive to fill such a small hole.

I have a friend that likes to use this trick but couldn't you have just place a copper plate behind the hole and fill it with weld? Not knocking your style, but thats makes for more clean up in the end. As a side note I dig that baby blue color.

  4. I have used nails to pull bad dents ,kinda like a poor mans stud gun. Amazing how much a small zap from the Mig will hold.

The color is gone--we are almost finished sanding it.

I've heard that you need to use older US made nails, the Chinese ones don't work as good. Something about the steel being different.

dumb idea. Causes to much warp. And unless you LOVE to sand filler, I would cut something to fit. Pretty easy to do with a cheap harbor freight hole punch and some 20 guage sheet metal. Simplicity and skill.

Why not just tack weld them shut? I've done a million and one shoebox holes and they take maybe three tacks to close em up and never warp...biggest holes I've ever welded up were on a '51 Olds quarter panel and '50 Lincoln sidetrim...had to make filler pieces for those.
