i have a 57 dodge d300 its ****l original truck.(my space bar is broke) its a one ton single 9.5 bed 315 poly v8 any one have parts. or an idea on how to put alate moddel 8 lug front and rear leaf sprung axles under it. im going to put 19.5 or 22.5 semi alcoas on it i want dodge axles. dont matterif the 4x4 works or not. it will have a 440+4 with a727 trans any and all ideas are welcome. also if you have a cell you can txt or call me 7654658065 thanks louie.
your truck is of the appropriate age for this forum, but I'm at a loss to figure how this intended result will be a "traditional" hot rod. I am glad you explained about your space bar however - your original **** truck would have made me nervous.
it kindawont be it will be what i want. considerthisaswell the truck coulda came with 19 and like 3/4 rimsso since there budd style semi rims will fit the bill. also my truck will be blue (check my pics of dixie and mid night thunder) plus it was blue @ one time. have a nasty 440 4bbl 727 trans with shift kit.and stacks so im building a mini semi cl***ic truck more or less. i like traditional trucks but there boring. i like rat rod style but they lack my appeal tooooo messy in my opinion. i want what nobody else has that i think illlike.
Drag out a tape measure. It wouldn't supprise me to find out 3/4 -1 ton axles from most 73-93 Dodge trucks will bolt onto your leaf springs. Might be a bit wider then what's under your truck now, but that's something that can be addressed. My truck is anything but traditional, but they still let me come here. Gene
