I've had several '30's-'40's cars that still had functioning lever action shocks that worked good. the flea markets have a lot of takeoffs for cheap. Has anyone ever used these in place of the Ford originals on a traditional car? I know tube shocks are the norm, but wouldn't ,say Buick lever actions be an upgrade done back then?
Most GM levers were on rear. Chevy pickup used levers front and rear. Have thought of using on front of my lakester instead of frictions.
If you come across and Delco-Lovejoys with the Ford adapters - BUY THEM! These were the shocks of choice in the days of moonshine running in the back hill country. I have them on my '35 and are vastly superior to Ford's original Houdi. The best part is they are a direct bolt on. No need to change or weld anything.
