FIRECRACKERS needed near the San Fernando Valley

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Groucho, Jul 30, 2011.

  1. Seriously. I'm buying a 64 Grand Prix that's sitting in a field and I fear mice/rodents may be in it. I started a thread on how to rid the car of them and got some good ideas. I'll start with traps and peanut ****er, but would like to "plan b" it with suggested firecrackers, which sound like a good idea. Anyone want to sell a few packs of firecrackers? please, thanks
BTW, the car's sitting on cement now (no fire issues)

  2. Are you afraid of mice John? ;) As much as your state is afraid of you with small blackpowder packed explosives? Black market Black Cats.......................

I have used spray foggers to rid a vehicle off all things living. A couple in the interior an one in the trunk and one on the ground under the firewall.
Set them off and stand away. All living things will leave or die!

DONT use a damn road flare. Those things are an arsonists best friend. And, firecrackers? Not a very bright idea either with old carpet, seats, nests etc.

Car exhaust thru the wing window works wonders? It's "free" and anything with lungs is gonna hate it?
After you dose it,let the car sit with the windows down and then febreeze the hell out of it.

  20. Groucho,
I can buy them by the block here or less or more any time of the year. problem is getting them to you. Shipping is not an option what with the terrism thing and homeland security going on.

You arrange a relay and I'll pic you some up. No problem.

I'll bet CA takes a dim view (as in patently ILLEGAL) of folks setting off explosive (not safe and sane) fireworks anywhere outside the limited window around July 4th. You get caught doing that, I don't care if the car is in an abandoned missile silo, you'll catch hell for igniting incendiaries when the fire danger is so high. CA is not a gunpowder-friendly state and most municipalities have serious ordinances about owning and using fireworks anywhere besides your driveway on the 3rd and 4th of the seventh month - Independence Day is to celebrate the old style independence and is not particulary honored by current political profiles.

I can't wait to see this!

Ok, so there is one thing I would miss if I moved to SoCal, the kagillion fireworks stores around here or even the space to set them off (not under a car :p :D)

Wouldn't lighting them outside the car just make them cower in the car even more? I know that when my cats hear the vacuum, they hide somewhere small and stay there, no matter how close the sound gets.

fireworks?...really? what are we talking about a herd of mice? set some traps kill a couple, drive down the road a couple will jump off, set some traps when you get home maybe get whatever is left, put out some poison for whatever survivor is left. any field mouse that remains deserves to live! name him Rambo.

In all reality, one time I bought a Riv from a field in Wisconsin. Hauled it home in an enclosed trailer. Opened the trailer, out come some mice. Move the car in the garage, get it fired up, out come a lot more mice. We always joke about those mice, their eyes were so BIG! We were all chasing them around trying to scoot them out the door! So your fears aren't completely unfounded...

Dry Ice Bombs......Loud, fireless, and readily available at your local grocery store.

  29. There are probably a hundred good ways to get mice out of a car. Firecrackers are idea number 101, at least
