Griffin rad in a Deuce what hoses??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hb32, Aug 1, 2011.

  1. I have a Griffin rad specific for a Ford 302 in my Deuce. Top inlet is centre with bottom outlet on drivers side. Just got back from the local auto parts store trying to match up some pre-formed hoses and no luck. Anyone running similar and have some p/n`s?
    Thanks

Not exactly what you're looking for hb but I have somewhat the same situation with a Griffin and a 2nd gen LT-1 in my deuce. I couldn't find the exact hoses so I'm going with stainless tubing. Check out www.mandrel-bends.com down in Oregon. They have 1 1/4 bends in 45's, 90's and 180's. Nice looking smooth bends reasonably priced. Another option.

  3. Thanks for the info bedrock and that idea has been in the back of my head for awhile.

i have a walker radiator in my model a w a small block ford and new i would have to hunt for hoses ! i took a piece of leftover stainless flex hose from an ot project and bent it into the shape i needed , i then took it to a a parts store ( had to go to 2 of em ) and w a little patience and them letting mr go back and look and pull hoses down i was able to compare them and find two that would work ( one for the top one for the botom ) the piece of flex hose made all the difference having something to compare to ! took em home and cut off the excess ! they worked perfect

I had a Griffin rad in my roadster and used an upper hose for a '70 chevelle with 350 and a lower hose fora '78 Malibu with a 305. Both hoses needed to be trimmed to fit but work very well. Incidently, my Griffin started leaking a 1600 miles. It was out of warranty time wise because it was one of the first things I bought to mockup the car and as we know time can p*** very quickly. but still brand new. Called Griffin and they gave me a return authorization and $78 dollars later it was in their hands. They admitted that it leaked but could not find a way to fix it either. Since it was out of warranty they offered me a "Special Deal" discount that was $40 more than I paid for the first one! Oh, and that was before shipping. I bought a Br***works and it made a BIG difference. The hoses also worked with the Br***works radiator.

  8. No response from Griffin and hope that this is not a sign of things to come. The upper hose recommended by deucemac, works but the lower will not. Still need a lower and deucemac and I can`t be the only ones to put a Ford in a Ford.
