1947 International frame options...help

Used a 92 short bed S10 chassis under my 49 international it was easy. Cut the frame rails in front of the sterring box and set the cab with the front clip bolted to it on the frame and the wheels are centered in the wheel well. You will also have to cut off the cab mounts off the S10 frame. I made 3" blocks to put between the frame and the cab to mount it. The S10 frame is half the thickness of the International. With the 3" blocks its like channeling the cab 6" with out cutting your floor. Have drop spindles and 1 coil cut up front with a 15x6 rim and a 215/75/15 tire and 3" blocks and a 15x8.5 rim and a 285/70/15 on the rear and my truck is laying on the ground. I also cut 2" out of the lower grill for ground clearence. Have pics of it in my album

 

Awesome pics braindamage. Yea, I just got done doing another cab swap - '50 GMC 1 1/2 ton onto a '83 Chevy shortbox frame/engine. Drives really nice and sits way low without too many cab mods. Was able to re-use the rear cab mount, and had to fab up front ones - went really well. Guess I bought the camper yesterday. Took a bunch of measurements - hope it fits...

 

I put a 94 s10 ext cab chassis under my 47 kb-2 flatbed, used 15x8 deep dish wheels w/ 1 1/4 spacers. used the entire drivetrain, steering, wiring, and dash bezel. hardest mod was making the dash bezel fit. mounted the cab 3 1/2 inches above the frame. runs and drives like a dream. people sure look at you funny when you pass them on the interstate in an antique, lol

 

I set this cab on a s10 frame but decided against using it since I did not want to chop my freshly completed box to get it over the frame. It definitely had a nice stance. I opted for Mustang 11 on the original frame...I also used a s10 4x4 rear axle and used 2 inch wheel spacers on the rear.

Build you a frame. You can buy enough steel for a couple hundred. Get a M2 front kit. Chassis Eng. rear springs and a 7.5 GM rearend (narrow) and away you go.

 

On my '34 Int'l I used a '90 regular cab S10 rear clip, cut just where the frame levels out under the cab. Built from there forward by pinching the frame with 2x4 tubing inserted inside the S10 frame, then boxed the rear clip. I too am using a 455 Buick. I had to narrow the bed but you get the effect of a narrowed rear end. If you can find a 4x4 S10, many of them had disc brake rear ends with limited slip. That's it in my avatar.

 

What is everyone doing about the steering box/radiator issue while putting the binder bodies on the s-10 frame?
