Of all the (real) drag front runner tires (Goodyear, Hoosier, MT etc.) which ones look most like a ribbed, flat sidewall, flat tread, bias ply old school tire? For instance I have some MT on my doorslammer bracket car and they look like a balloon with waffle print...****py. Also, will MT bbc valve covers clear Crane gold rockers? Do the new import ones look like the originals...are they worth a ****? thanks all
Moroso makes a ribbed front runner. look in a Summit catalog. if its a front runner on a race car it is not about looks it is all about rolling resistance. But the moroso front runner is pretty close and is ribbed.
He's looking for "FRONT RUNNER" drag racing tires, Coker really doesn't have the type of tire he's looking for. TR
I've got pro trac's on my Chevelle and toyo's on my s10 blazer.....the pro trac's are 215's and the toyo's are 26's......both have a somewhat square shoulder....not like a Goodyear.
thanks everyone......looking for a true drag race tire (low resistance, weigh next to nothing) I'll try to get better looks at the Moroso and MH next time at the track.
I ran a pair of Firestone F560's (you can only get then from coker) on my old pro street car (72 pinto with a turbocharged 302, and a 4 speed). Never had any problems with them (even with the occasional 140+ mph blast).
