Heres my 63 Merc, not a unibody though, it originally came from factory with a 57-60 style box

 

thanx. dont have much dont to the bed, cut up to test fit the new frame. truck will be getting a new raised floor, modified factory tubs, and cover. also gunna be puttin a new back cab wall ( wrap around glass ) and sectioning the hood

What kind of # did you lay down on that run?? That looked & sounded like fun!!!

We ran 127 on that one. I wish she was on our crew, that's Leslie Porterfield the fastest woman on two wheels. She was behind us in the staging lanes and came to chat with us. Fast, beautiful and a real nice personality.

 

What was your goal in that class? Did you run into issues with the inspection process?

I'd say on the F,B & RNP ... & then some.

I'm impressed with you follow through & drive to hit your goal. You sir are a hot rodder.

I was hoping for 130 with that engine and got 127 with a 12 mph headwind, I think it did alright.

 

sadly, this truck ended as did many kustoms.... gutted

 

I'd say you did well.

What's next on the trail to higher speeds?

Just a little tinkering this fall for El Mirage, nothing big. A gear change and some changes to the carb, but this winter will be a different engine.

 

What size rims are on your truck?

 

Get a big red stamp 'cause its DONE! Delivered it this evening. Started 2 weeks before Christmas.
