Last Sunday I had a Surprise 65th Birthday party for my Wife, with about (85) friends/relatives attending. I had to lure her to the park where I rented a pavilion and had my Son in Law do a pig roast. After ~6 months of planning, it actually all came together great and we all had a wonderful time...Surprised?? She was totally taken in... To get her to the park, I faked a small car show and pushed her pretty hard to go with me...(it was 96* and no air in my car) and she actually did. We had about (15) cars show up too! As not all are HAMB friendly, here are pics of a few of them that are. 1955 Buick Special....(my Nephew's) 1966 Impala...(my Brother in Laws) 1963 T-Bird convertible Roadster with Kelsey Hayes wheels. ( a good friend of mine's) 1940 Buick 4 door convertible...(Friend of wife's) 1963 Biscayne....(Yep, that one is mine) Also had a Roush Mustang there that caught a lot of attention, as well as some Camaros, Corvettes, and so on.. A great time for all, and as always a pleasure to get out some of he wonderful old iron !! Cheers, Bob
Say Happy Birthday to the wife, that's a neat thing you did, how did you keep her from finding out? Six months is a long time for the cat not getting out if the bag. President US Chapters Goldchainers C C Dallas, Texas Chapter
Big guy with a big heart, Happy Birthday to the wife! Hey, did you have any of that Spotted Cow beer there?
That's a great story! Don't you love it when a plan comes together? You make a good looking couple and congrats on your partnership! Pulled the same thing with the wife at our ten year anniversary. She was "swellguts" with our first and I remarried her barefoot and preggers just for a hoot.Another daughter came along and we celebrated our 25th last year. She's a keeper.
That's a Major ****-up! So, what did you do that you had to pull this off to get back in her good graces? Seriously, You obviously love her a lot. Thanks for the kind reply's..... To answer a few questions... * Yep lots of good beer there, even a bit of Moonshine * Tricked her by having my Son invite her over to his house to cook chicken and ribs on the grill for her, telling her that about (15) relatives and a few friends would be there...about 1:00 PM. Then at the last week, had him send me an email that his company was having a small car show to benefit a workers wife who was ill. He said he felt obligated to go (as he is the President) and has a '67 Camaro convertible, but he would leave for his house at 11:30 AM...He asked me to bring my '63 Biscayne and said he had paid the small entry fee for mine. Also asked me to tell my Brother in Law about it (66 Chevy) and Nephew (55) Buick, as well as any others.... I told her out of respect for him, we needed to go, but would get there about 11:00 AM and only stay 1/2 hour, then off to his house... All invitations sent said to be at the park no later than 10:30 AM to surprise her.. * Yes had a few "Oh ****" moments...one when her daughter almost blew it two days before by calling her and saying she was coming down for it....and was going to come to our house about 9:00 AM....NOT GOOD.. * My Son in Law spent all Saturday night doing the Hog, as well as (25) chickens, and a bunch of beef tips...Plenty of food... I am glad it is over, as it was a bit too stressful for this ol' boy, especially the last week. But it was all worth it!! Cheers, Bob
