Is anybody going to Summer Elkhorn show & swap meet? I've never been there and I was wondering if it's a show/swap worth going to.
Usually is a good show with different cars than Jefferson because of proximity to Illinois. Here's a link:http://www.madisoncl***ics.com/car-shows/summer-elkhorn.php for times and maps
I hope to be there on saturday. Its not the biggest show/swap but its decent. I usually go to find me some bithday presents. LOL
Hi Bob. I'm planning Sunday; the weather is not predicted to be good on Saturday. I hope to see you out there. Finn
What a mess, they must of had a lot of rain on Friday night to be that much of a lake. First swap meet in years and as I was told I would be I was disappointed. Going to try Jefferson in the fall.
well you will be in for the same thing if you go to jefferson mud-rain-wind all staples of the madison cl***ic i missed the show due to some bad chineese food tk
great crowd today. Car show area was overflowing, lots of folks in the car corral. unfortunately, not much money was changing hands. The prices were just too high for the quality it was good to see Finn and Pete two days in a row, and at different events
Im planning on attending, last year it was a lake and rained all day,, and then Springfield MO is coming up in 2 weeks,,
I have done this one in the past - but not near as big as Jefferson........ I wont be there - instead I will be smelling high octane race fuel baby!!!!
Well, I tried to get there.... Left home at 5:45 AM and met up with two others in Janesville. Got just west of Janesville and couldn't shift into 1st or 2nd gear Rats, Told them to go ahead, and I took all main highways home to avoid stop signs in town...Made most of the stop lights and if didn't kinda sorta ran them... Got home, fretted a bit, then jacked it up and crawled under there...yep just what I thought...a bolt came loose on the trans shift lever that hooks to the linkage... Fixed now, so guess I will wait till next year... (oh, and it rained on me too) Cheers, Bob
disappointing turnout, IMHO. Especially on Sunday. Early AM showers did a great job of wetting the dust, cleaning the cars and pumping up the humidity! I did not see much money changing hands. I had a freshly painted red 1972 Cutl*** that is a very capable driver and offered it for $6900. I only had a couple of interested parties and one offer...of $5000! I know it is an OT car, but I would guess most guys on here see the significance of a great bargain going unbought.
I went, picked up a nice old tool box I can use for my pinstriping box and a small piece of trim from my '53 Chevy. Not much else good there today.
Went this afternoon and got there when a lot of people were packing up. Bought an alternator bracket and a sanding block.
Sounds like a nice car Bob... People are just not parting with their $$$ these days, even for good solid deals. Cheers......
