A little late, but as it happens my mission for last weekend turned out to be to get my truck back home. I went out to pick up some OT bikes, but I got held up by construction and with the heat my repaired radiator decided to take a leak on my carburetor. After a rest, I made it the rest of way there but one of my rear tires started smoking on the way back. Looks like I blew out a rear brake cylinder, which is better than the various other horror stories going through my head at the time.

I did accomplish getting the truck back home, so I guess I get to hang a "Mission Accomplished" banner. And it's given me a mission for next weekend.

Not much accomplished. Still have the Nash, not done with dash grille on '50, and didn't get to mess with the '29. Too damn hot outside.

I partially FAILED my mission. I did get ONE wheel polished and I installed the driveshaft, which was a fiasco. Not only did they give me the wrong u-joint based on my measurements, but when I finally (after 3 trips) was given the right one, I installed it backwards (with the zirc angled toward the pinion) and had to dis***emble everything to reinstall it correctly. What should have taken 30 minutes too 2 1/2 hours.

The UPSIDE is that we all decided to finally take my late grandfathers mahogany '58 Philbrick boat out of dry storage and get it reconditioned and ready for water! This boat is beautiful and fast...I cannot wait.

I formed a tie-in piece for the rear sub-rail and got it welded in. Then a buddy came over and I started drinking beer. So much for accomplishing anything meaningful.
