If you've already got a hot rod or custom, I'd do it. The RR looks in great shape.

Either way you still have a car to sell. Why take on something you don't know (maybe all kind of hidden surprises) for something you do know. The old adage is 'Better the devil you know than the one you don't'....

  3. For that 71 you might want to run the VIN. There is a highly desireable and rare engine option that was offered and only the die-hard Mopar nuts will know what it is.

Most HAMBers will say no because that kind of car is not their interest.
I say look into it further. If thats a true frame-off job, it may be worth decent money. Check Hemmings, etc.... see what they're selling for. I would certainly spend the time to research the numbers. Check Galen Govier's website. Good luck.

No "frame" for a Road Runner to be "off" of, they are unibody cars...

The Mopar craze will crash and burn. The '48 Ford will always be cool.

    Keep the Ford!

Do your homework, and sell whatever you decide. Be aware that values are decided by the guy who wants to buy your car and not what's printed in a book or a classic car dealer. Which brings me to this final opinion: Please respectfully delete this thread and thanks for keeping the H.A.M.B. litter-free. Rusty

Good move on keeping the 48. If the RR was a 68-69-70 it would be worth something. 71 Up roadrunners are butt-ugly cars and the value is less than half of the earlier cars.If his car had any value he wouldn"t want to trade it anyway.
