Is it possible to take the kick down cable out with out dropping the pan? I need to replace the o-ring cause it's leaking....Thanks
yeah..unbolt it down at the base (at trans) pull it up and hold on to the cable or pull until the hook shows..find a way to hold the hook or loop and pull the cable off put the new o ring down and hook back up and bolt it back in , re-adjust, just dont lose the connector in the trans..than its pan time i was successful at this with the trans out on the floor, could be a different deal in the car
I've heard no on a turbo 350, have to drop the pan. Hope someone has an better way, I have the same problem.
Disconnect the cable from the carberator then you will be able to get enough play to unhook it at the bottom. The link in the transmission sticks up a little even when unhooked so you won't loose it in the pan. I work in a trans shop and have done it probably hundreds of times.
