I have a '51 Ford wheel I was going to use, but it looks like something out of a Barris space ship.
Waaaay too 'kustom' for me...would go great in a Kaiser Manhattan...

I like the dead simple look of the '40 Standard. Perfect shape without anything unnecssary.

I got the banjo, a 50 crestliner, and a 50 lincoln. If the lincoln counts i like it best. Then the banjo the crestliner wheel is just not my style. But who can complain when its free.

That is not a 51 crestliner wheel. 51 crestiners had the same wheel as a regular 51 ford
I believe that is a 49 acc. Wheel and came standard on 50 crestliners.
The merc acc./monteray wheel is awesome as well

  16. Like you Jim,I think the Crestliner might just be the prettiest steering wheel but I can't afford one or it would be on Brenda's wagon.

I have the other two bases covered though,,you already know I have the ever popular banjo wheel on the mordor and the 40 wheel on the pickup. HRP

    Yes, all of them.

Actually, since I have a shoebox I am leaning towards the Crestliner.

My favorite is the '35-36 banjo and the '40, depends on the car and whether or not you need the horn rod / light switch.

Not sure how well this picture will post up, but I've always dug the '61-'62 Mercury Comet S-22 steering wheels. Far as I know, they stopped offering them after '62, but they're dope.

Also--and I'm sure someone will know this--but they were actually a hold-over from some late-'50s Ford product, kind of a remainder. I wanna say '57-'58 Merc.

thats a fine wheel.. iv like the 60 chev impala wheel too, but i really dig the banjo wheels. im thinking i want a banjo wheel.. then instead having it restored to factory.. i want a bamboo type of wrap, reed maybe? seen it in a old race car from the 20s.. it looked so bitchen.. anyone have pictures of such wheels? banjos with wood/grass type wrap? sorry for bringing up a old thread but im not one to st art a new thread if i just add to the information already present.. sure makes searches easier for others and my self.

I like those steering wheels but there is also beauty to be found in the simplicity of a model-t.

  24. Gotta add a new favorite ot the list.

I was having a hard time coming up with something I liked for my '48 coupe. I'm kinda weird about not back-dating a steering wheel in my car or mixing makes. This left me looking for a Ford wheel newer than '48.

A Crestliner wheel was out of the question. I happily settled for this 1950 wheel.

    I'm thrilled with it.

I think the first steering wheel is off a Fraiser I had a friend in the earlier 50'S had one on a 1936 Ford, I may be wrong about it being off a Fraiser.

I have always been partial to '62 Mercury steering wheels, and Pacificustoms did one hell of a nice job with this one.
