So I moved into a shitty 1 bedroom apartment, with no garage space- So I've been tinkering with the bike, a LITTLE bit anyways. Thought you guys might dig some pics-
Well- I'm changing the whole rear-end, I don't dig the sissybar, license/taillight mount, p-pad, OR the flat fender- Then there's the white stripe running down the rear fender, and underneath the seat. I need to extend that into the tank/paint the tank put the 50's pin-up tiger girl water decal on the sides of the tank (I ended up getting two decals instead of one, so I'm putting 1 on both sides) But I outta post a few more pics.... (unfortunately I can't take a picture to save my life)
You can't hardly tell, but the primary has had the swiss-cheese treatment, and it's got a mikuni carb- (Which I'm thinkin' about taking off?) I suppose I've done quite a bit to it already, I shoulda posted pics when I got it. if I had a decent space to work on it and I was willing to make it un-rideable (again) I'd probably be farther along with it... oh well. Been tryin' to decide if I want to leave the dogbone risers on or not...? I MIGHT just get apes and forget about it...
Chandler- Thanks man, just header wrap, bell tips, and alot of exhaust tubing welded together- Jesse- I got it maybe... 6 months ago? Maybe a little longer? It was already pretty solid when I got it though, had the hardtail, belt-drive and 16" rear.... BUT- The little details were ALL wrong (IMHO) The paint wasn't to MY liking, the handlebars were TOO wide, the tires were "crotch-rocket racer" style, along with alot of other MINOR things... And this pic is my fav-
[if you have a one bedroom apartment that sounds like a fine garage.Just sneak it in at night and sleep on your couch until you have it to your satisfaction.Probably wouldn't want to firing it up inside.
Well greaseball, I like a lot of the bike the way it is but can certainly respect your desire to make changes. I would definitely revise the riser arrangement after seeing that pic. It's a little funky. The Mikuni and the belt drive are great additions. I know a lot of folks won't view them as trad but they're good for performance and dependability. <I don't dig the sissybar, license/taillight mount, p-pad, OR the flat fender> If you're gonna dump those things, gimme a holler. I might be able to use them on something. But all in all, I think that's a cool bike that will only get better with some detailing.
Yea, the only problem with that idea is it's a single apartment with TWO people living here. Which is fun...? Maybe? Oh well... Just scored a KILLER seat today too, I'll post pics when it's further along....
