made a decklid for my T

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by guy with a wrench, May 10, 2005.

  1. Its a lot of work trying to juggle two projects, work a job and take care of my 3 boys, but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun. Here is the latest addition made for my T. The louvers were punched for free by a small business owner I met through my work, They make some heavy equipment type stuff and just happen to have a press all set up. What do you think? Made it a little different dimensions than I had originally planned(narrower and longer) but I think it is actually gonna look better that way when it is installed and the body is modified.

gotto love free . are you just going to weld it to the old lid ??

  5. No the body is a wanna be (tupperware) I have to add some material on each side of the existing opening about 6 inches so that the lid will fit right, but after looking it over I think that the longer skinnier lid will have a better look and fit better than one the original size. Just going to use the gl*** lid that I cut out for the material so I will already have the correct shape. Could just make a whole new lid but what fun is that when I can use what I have and modify.

  7. I think i might end up making a lid too.. the 26/27 coupe lids seem to be scarce and usually go for too much when you find em.. i'd pay a few bucks for a nice one but the ones I find are ****ty for the money..

    nice job
