You know the drill. It's 111 degrees outside, you just got home and settled in front of the A/C and the phone rings. "Hey it's Paul, what are you doing?" Seems as though Paul has just bought a neat old car and his buddy ,Moi, has a truck and trailer. Yea it could wait till morning when it's cooler but it "sure would be neat to get it home today".

Hey he's a friend, whatcha gonna do, just got back. Now whether you think the car is neat or not is immaterial. He is a car buddy that needed my help. Man this A/C feels good now!

Here is the car. lol A Fiat 600 Multipla. Glad it's in his yard, man is it rusty.

Good job. I helped a friend pull 3 vws including one of those desirable vans out some time ago that were parked before a few trees had grown up around them.

    Long story..

    Good times......

that thing would look cool with a big motor in the back with the blower sticking out of the roof... only a mother would love that face...

I remember that back in the late 60's a guy had a regular Fiat 600 with a turbocharged Corvair Spyder engine in it. That thing screamed. Can't remember what class he ran in but popping 2 nd and 3rd gear wheelies was way cool in '69.
It seems to me that helping your friends all ways puts you ahead in the long run.

That is a funky machine! In fact its so funky I think that its cool. Different is good!

  10. my first thought was to convert it to a camp trailer, remove the back axle, put a tongue out the back, and tow it backwards behind a custom.

I knew a guy that had a couple of those.

He put a Abarth engine in one of them.

After he rolled it a couple of times, he turned it into a pickup... :D

  12. Funky thing. I would have to say that that may be the 1st time I have seen one!?

Paul saw the thread and pointed out that I didn't come away empty handed. lol So in the interest of complete disclosure, this driveway bell was laying in the car and Paul gave it to me for helping him out. Thing is cast iron so I am guessing it's an oldie.

I love having a truck and trailer.
It helps me be a friend to people that always want something.
I get to see some real cool stuff and go places I would never go for gas money and sometimes even lunch.

WOW! Trippy... if this car came from southern california im one of the guys who first pulled it out of the barn after its several decade slumber. we found it on an indian reservation and my dads friend picked it up for a lil over $500 and turned around and sold it for a good profit. really kool! if its not the same car its VERY similar.

Not the same car, this one has stayed in Oklahoma and was last tagged in 69, only been on the road for 10 years since it's a 59 model.

I know it's pretty rare, Been talking to a guy that was selling one on e-bay till he pulled it off with three days to go and 40 bidders, at that time it was at $1680, he tells me it went for $2000 and he would give me that for mine. I think thats kind of strange and have a feeling he got much more. Said he buys and sells Micro cars mainly Isettas and this model of Fiat Multipla.

If I'm not mistaken a restored one is worth 20 times that.

From what I've found up to $5K plus in it's shape 7 running and better shape, then 18 in very nice shape to 30K fully restored. Still want a Model A Ford to build, but looks like my wife wants this on the road, Also I ended up with a 62 Triumph Hearald in trade for some sign work, it's had a restoration started, new everything, just waiting for paint, I don't plan to keep it.

  30. That is one funky little machine, and some great vintage tin. I saw a bunch of those things (or their cousins) over in Japan, where they seem to have a cult following. I imagine that, as fuel prices continue to climb, and antique American metal gets harder and harder to find, folks will start falling in love with these little things. Heck, a 1939 Topolino is still one of the sexiest little vehicles ever made. That nose just screamed "I want something more than 13 hp under my hood!"
