I have a 1938 Chevrolet pickup which I just purchased and am going through and discovering things that are not working, etc.

One of the items I discovered today 'not working' are the brake lights. The headlights/tail lights work fine, but the brakelights do not.

I checked the connections at the brake master cylinder stop light switch and everything is good and tight there. Aside from replacing the switch, are there any other things to eliminate (fuses, etc.) before I go to that step?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

With a test light confirm ones of the terminals on the switch has power. If jump across the 2 terminals and if your brake light now work the switch is bad. I assume the truck does not have turn signals?

JohnEvans... I will try your test. You are correct, the truck does not have turn signals.

    Thank you for the help!
