500 inch Cadillac

Is there a external way to tell if my engine is a 500 or a 472? I am missing a starter and would like to get the right one. thanks in advance

Look at the sticker on the radiator cover on the Cadillac. Yeah, I'm a shmart ***! lol

 

you can search the stroke dimensions of the two motors, then measure how far a coat hanger moves through the spark plug hole as you rotate the crank.

 

Yo 69fury thats what i need the f***ing starter for, i can move it with the flywheel but it is a *****, its been setting for a long time (hard to turn) thanks anyway

 

Yo Evil, thanks but it been twenty years since it had a radiator. something about a (smart ***) lol
