The first concept of an ***embly-line vehicle wash system was developed in the Detroit area in 1914. It was called "The Automobile Laundry" and used manpower to push vehicles from one wash station to the next in a circular fashion. By 1928, a drive-through type tunnel with a man-powered chain conveyor moved the automobiles through the car wash, and car wash automation was born.

I geuss I could have used google but the HAMB is more fun plus you don't have to filter through a bunch of ads and non related sites besides you really think google had the info about the wooly mammoth?Just for the sake of argument I typed in wooly mammoth in my search engine and the third sponsored link for that is wholly guacomole facebook page because that's related right?Anybody have any pics?

Yeah that was useful. I was talking about the photos. Seems everytime I made a joke in the past people got bent out of shape and said it was off topic. Maybe things have changed and people got a sense of humor.

    Don't take yourself so serious!
A carwash has virtually nothing to do with the HAMB. And you still had your question answered. Whats wrong with a little fun thrown in here? BTW I'm glad you asked, cause that Car Wash Bowl is awesome!

  13. Well I'll take a guess at it - when did women start wearing bathing suits and washing cars?

  14. You're my friend Fred.:) Speaking of Fred, I wonder if Flintstone ever used a wolly mammoth AS a carwash, the old-fashioned kind with brushes that scratch the paint?

Also, in the Houston area, I can't remember the last time I saw the chain-driven type carwash that pulled the car through. Seems like every cheesy 70s teen movie had a sceen with a nerd in a convertable going through with the top down.

  15. Right around the time when raincoat sales skyrocketed.
