I've been using a vintage Mallory on my 8BA flathead and It's always run lousy. It's a completely rebuilt engine and distributor and I've always had the points gap set at .020 like it says on the tag on the dizzy. So today I decided to play around with it and I set the gap at .015, now it runs damn good! Has anyone had a similar problem with these? Ed
The advice on the tag is just to set it "static"....you should always run them on a distributor machine to properly set the dwell. Glad it's running better for you!!!!
GMC BUBBA here on the H.A.M.B. is the dam best with a dizzy machine and has great hot sauce! He can dial it in like a champ. Look him up.
