How to lower a 1951 chevy?

any one have any ideas on how to lower a bel air/ deluxe 1951, im kinda broke, so im wanting to just make my own blocks and cut my springs i just dont know how much to lower it although i would love to slam it but still drivable

And...lowering blocks on the back and cut the front springs...

Do not heat your springs in the rear......They will crack!!
