I wanna see some pics of hot rod studie trucks. There is one at a local metal s**** yard. Looks like it had a camaro sub under it and was wrecked in the front some time ago. SO the front frame and hood and grill and all is ****ed. BUT besides a dent in the drivers door, the cab and bed are nice. I wanna see if any of you have seen any studebaker trucks done up "right". The one I can get looks like this. I can get it for its weight in s****. I don't know what this truck would look like fenderless, but it may be the way to go since the front sheet metal is screwed.

Grab it- and I mean NOW! They aren't super-rare, but far less common than the later models. The M series Studes ran from '41-'48, so it'll be one of those years if it looks like the pic you posted. If nothing else, it'll be worth more than s**** to someone else out there.

Mine is far from done, but it'll get there eventually-

My wife's family has a 1+ton version in the trees behind the farm...the cab and front sheetmetal is the same as the light duty trucks. I've played with the proportions...I think a section would set the truck off. But I've never sectioned anything, so I might be talking out of my ****...
Here's a pic that I stole and photoshopped...the truck already had the right stance, and I added the section.

Just so you know, those fenders will be different from the M5's (1/2 tons). The M5's have a smaller wheel well radius than thier bigger brothers.

Mine is riding on a '77 LUV ch***is. Plans at the moment are Ford 9" (3.50 gears), SBC 400/TH400, & steel wheels w/ dog-dish Stude caps. Prolly gonna spray it satin brown 'til I get the body straight. Thanx for the nice words, spudz.

I thought I'd heard that before, and it makes sense...are the front and rear fenders on the light trucks identical? And actually, looking at the pics, a larger wheel opening might not be a bad look...

Yep, on the M5's the front & rear fenders are the same & actually interchangable w/ eachother.

any chance of saving the camaro sub? It would be a nice, functional upgrade if you could fix it.

unless you are going open fendered, then yuck

to be honest with you I think the grill and front of the stude are ugly, I LIKE the cab and bed and rear fenders but the front ****s, and I think it may be too new to go fenderless. I may make a chevy front work or change something i dunno. Hell I don;t even have it, they don't open again until next monday, I hope they don't crush it by then lol...I will try an get it though if it ain't. I only have like almost 30 cars now, whats one more....

If anyone reads other mags STREETRUCKS had a nice one a while back. Billetmobile but still nice truck, Yellow and silver. It said the front fenders were the same asthe backs just turned around. Looked like that was the case in the straight side shot. If true I would think it would be alot easier to find a set of good ones.

My dad has a 49 'M' body that is over on a dodge frame. wheel base was a little longer, we had to compensate by moving the rear finders back. But you realy can't tell at all. It runs a ford 302. primer is the color and steelies are the wheels. It realy looks ****in cool, I'm trying to get him to lower it but he not realy seeing it. I like the look and stude was way ahead of everyone else for their time. Like they used steel in their beds not wood, and their gas tanks were already under the bed its the little things like that that make them cool.
