Nope, no way I would miss the HAMB Drags in Joplin, MO BUT I will be out on Woodward the Monday and Tuesday of that week before I leave on Wed.

I was out on Woodward last Friday and Saturday nights. The place was HOPPING!!

No Thanks!!!! If you want to sit in traffic and watch parades of mini vans and suv's this is your event. Yeah I know there are "old cars" PARKED everywhere. The last time I went some guy told me it was gonna cost me 50 buck to park, I promptly told him how I felt and left. No Thanks a bunch of us are headed out Friday after work for the Relix Riot at the Gilmore. I would much rather see some cars I enjoy rather than hundreds of 65 Mustangs, 69 Camaros and Chevelles. Have fun and if you decide to " cruise " make sure your cars cooling system is in good shape.

you nailed it. If you're into late model camaros and novas doing burnouts for five miles , dont miss woodward. Bring your anitfreeze jug too. If you are into cool old hot rods customs and bikes, Gilmores car museum is where you need to bring your hind end parts. Relix Riot Friday the 19th and Saturday.

  14. Back To The Bricks in Flint. At least you can get in and out. And never have had to pay to park.

I'll be there. Have been since the beginning. The day of the cruise is a little tough to cruise, but all week (and the week before) at night there is nothing better. I'll have my OT Chevelle (sorry to offend!) and my '29 Ford roadster there on different nights througout the coming weeks.

The Relix Riot is the place to be, not sitting in a traffic jam on Woodward. All the real hot rods will be there, this will be way cooler than the woodward parking lot.:D

Deuces, why don't you bring that nice 5 window to Gilmores on saturday. You can cruise Woodward when you get back in mid afternoon. ANY show at Gilmores is better than the 20 mile parking lot on saturday.

Deuces. do you have to live in Michigan to go to these show? I lived in Michigan for 25 years and have been down Woodward a lot of times when I lived the Detroit area. I have also gone to the Metro cruise twice in G.R. and it's parking lot with a lot of mini vans and stupid looking pick up trucks and freash out of the showroom cars, big deal. I myself would rather go see a bunch of real hot rods and customs just like the car you have for your avatar (very cool looking). So with that said, I'll see you at the Relix Riot.:)

The Dream Cruise is more about an attempt to retain and support that which built Metro Detroit, the auto industry, than it is a car show. My friends, family and I make it a point every year to do what we can to keep the "auto enthusiasts" dream of cruising, hanging out and enjoying the automotive culture. Yes, this event is open to everyone and every does show up (mini vans and all). Metro Detroit, The Motor City, I fear is loosing its image. The history and culture that created and popularized the automobile has faded from our hometown streets. Giving up on events like the Dream Cruise adds to the decline of what once was.
I'm going to sit in traffic, on the curb, stretching my neck to look over the mini vans to wave and appreciate the cl***ics, customs, muscle and rods that still make the attempt to show their roots and pride. Don’t complain about your jobs or the economy while you sit in a farm field when you have an opportunity to build your community and fight to bring back the Motor City.
I can see a car show any week.

Well said Rod n hudson. I have been to all the cruises around MI. it is indeed a very busy day but if you play it right. We always make a p*** down to 696 first thing in the morning. We park in Pontiac the loop is always moving. Then go home around 6-7 pm so you get stuck in traffic.

I'll be there friday and saturday, been going since 99. I agree that its nowhere near as good as it used to be but I still always have fun and see some amazing cars. I go over friday afternoon which is usually very busy and reminds me of what the saturday cruise used to be like. On saturday I go over in the morning, cruise the entire loop before lunch and park in ferndale so I can get out easy...the cruise moves in the morning it becomes a parking lot after 11. Do that and youll have fun. I will agree paying for parking is sometimes rediculous but you can find cheap or free parking if you look hard enough. As much as its not like it used to be, its still fun.

Been going since 2002 and will be there starting Tuesday, I will be driving my 65 Galaxie again this year. I was going to bring the the 61 Fairlane but not enough time to make it reliable enough to drive from Milwaukee to Detroit.
Ill be parking on Woodward and Webster (about 12 1/2 Mile)
Ill also be going to Back to The Bricks.
As others have stated, no problem parking and the store owners are very "Cruise" friendly.
