I managed to get some really sore feet and legs walking all over the Iowa State Fair. My daughter scored a parking p*** so I stayed in the car overnight Saturday night. It was just like old times since I used sleep in the car on the fairgrounds the whole 10 days when I was in my late teens and early twenties. The biggest difference was the car interior is a lot smaller in an 84 Chrysler Fifth Ave than the 66 Mercury Wagon or the 69 Olds 98 that I drove back then. I am also bigger than i was. If I ever get the sedan delivery done I should be able to sleep quite nicely in it.

Welded in the rear, and front horn "box plates" on the '33 ch***is, reinstalled the hood and rad/front grille to make sure the tin still fit well. Stared at it for about 10 hours, smoked a few cigars, etc. It's all good. :)

Drove my 49 a little on saturday, then saturday night went to put new seals and bearings in axle housing, ended up needing 2 new axles. So sunday morning picked up 2 new axles and new seals and bearings and put it all back together sunday afternoon. Then drove the truck a little more.

  12. Had to go into work for a few hors both days. Still managed to get the frame on my 38 stripped, drilled and mounted all the Ch***is Engineering pieces for it. I the took them off and gave the whole frame a couple of coats of POR-15. Started putting it back together tonight. Todd

Sunday raided the s**** pile and made a couple helpful little tools

a dolly to slip between the inner and outer skins of the '27 deck lid
and started working the wrinkles out

and a trunk/church key so I can open the trunk and have a tasty beverage

Finally pulled the engine/trans out of my donor truck this weekend. The wreck has been sitting in my backyard for over 2 months...figured it was finally time to get off my *** and start stripping it.

Got the heads back for the 57' 365ci engine going in the 53'.
Finally got the 700R4, also going in with the 365, out of the trunk.
New brake, back up & fog light lenses.
Got stuck on the shoulder after pulling over because of a down-pour.
Cleaned the car & Polished the whitewalls.
Greased the front end, 1st time in a year. (One whole tube)
Finished the sealed beam-to-capsule style headlight change, new springs and adjustment screws too.
