Made some changes to my entire suspension. Thanks to Tim's Hot Rod Shop in Pottstown, PA.

    Stance looks killer.

One thing to be mindful of. I have traction bars welded to my frame simular to how your leaf springs are attached. The suspension action started to crack the frame and I had to re-inforce the frame. Just sayin'.

Ive seen this car on here for a long time and have always thought it set up good.
I can see what has been changed from the way it was originally but how was it setting up before?
I dont notice any diffrence in the height from memory, what did you change?

Killer stance! Maybe just the angle of the picture but it looks like the bushing in the rear spring eye is whipped

Looks good man and glad you didn"t cut up the rear fenders like so many do and ruin another 55.

  7. NICE! I like them with or without axles!

Looks great. So much for having a stright axle to get the right stance. You could go back to stock. You moved the rear springs inboard and added shackles and ball joint extenders to the front, correct? How long are the shackles and BJ extenders? What is the height difference from stock? What wheel sizes are you running? Regards
ps, where is Pottstown is this shop?

    It does look nice!

I have a sort of similar setup for the rear leafs on mine, I used vertical straps on each side of the frame for the front spring eye support. been on the road 15 years and no problem.

Just curious, how much were the spacers for the front, and did you have to change front springs ? Looks great !

    Looks good.
I saved a pic of your car a while ago that looks like it had an I-beam axle.
Sat a lot taller front and back.
Was it just photo shopped or what? Just curious.

The ball joint spacers don't actually raise the suspension, they just give you more travel so that the suspension won't "top out" when you raise the car (or set the front end up for a lot of lift on the hit).
There is a guy that sells aluminum spacers (similar set up to these) on e-bay. I bought a set from him and like the way they look. I'll let ya'll know how they fit when I get my front end finished.
Are you going to run any sort of traction bars or ?? on the car?

Rear springs are new so are the bushings. I have been running the springs in this position for over 3 years no trouble with the frame.
The car had a tube front axle with the Ford 9" under the rear springs in the past. Now the car has 4" ball joint extensions that Tim and the rear axle is now over the springs. Sits 6" over stock height with Chevy 409 SW w/ AC springs up front with one coil cut off. May ad ******* bars in the future. The wheels are 15"x 6" up front and 15" x 10" in the rear. Rear shackles are stock. Tim's shop is on State Street in Pottstown, PA. Call 610-323-3253

Mr. Gasket Shock extensions. You will have to cut off the snubber brackets...

It looks like the front tire is rubbing the upper arm in the 5th pic? Is that just me? It dont look like it would hurt it but just curious.
I may have to get some ball joaint spacers too, slightly smaller... my upper a-arm is damn near touching the snubber even with the BBC an stuff loaded in it. stiff damn springs.

    Good lookin car however man!!!

Might be a good idea to remove or flatten the outer lip on the outer control arm. I went through a couple of front tires with ball joint spacers back in 1969 on my first 55.

I run the same front springs with ball joint spacers about 35 years ago. Looked really cool, but rode like a farm wagon.
