Couldn't agree more on way back when. It was a different world then. Now the pacific rim is cranking out billets that are one step up from pot metal. So many knock off American, Boyds, Colorado's out there. Buyer beware.
I guess I need to track down this post from 3 weeks ago. Guess I missed it.

  2. I would link the post but have a new browser that I dont know how to link with yet? wierd? But, these wheels are really nice solid castings. Thats why I fear they will rule us.

another really nice wheel that's similar to the salt flats and the halibrand, is wheel vintique's billet lakester. so billet is a bad word in trad. rodding, it's still a nice wheel, and doesn't look at all like it the rest of that billet garbage:

    Cab-hiboy,

Enjoyed the photos of your roadster. It has a mean lean, that's sweet.

From the pics it looks like you have your exhaust running straight in from the header megaphone and then down through the frame. If that's the case, I really like that arrangement. To me those who have the exhaust running straight down from the megaphone and then under the frame really look bad. Looks like an afterthought system.

I was planning on running salt flats on my willys, but I just called JEG'S to get some backspacing and they said that the salt flats had been discontinued!!!

Actually I haven't run any of the exhaust yet except for the headers. But what have mentioned is exactly what I am going to do. I want the exhaust hidden from the side profile.

    **** admittedly buying chinese knockoffs.

I know I haven't proved my worth to this board enough to ascert my opinion; but regardless I'll never knowingly buy chinese knock-off halibrand/american castings. ****ing ***s . . . If I have to explain it . . . **** it . . . I'll go pour another gl*** of American whiskey. And don't hate me if I wish your chinese welds fail at speed. Call me naive, stupid, self defeating. I don't care.

"Hamb" is supposed to mean something.

Go buy your chinese wheels/intake/crank/pissed-ons. Do you have any idea of how many tier 1 suppliers moved operations to china last year?
I realize the steel I buy is most likely imported. I am aware of the global economy and "exploit"/importation etc. I work for a company who makes big bucks on the global economy. But isn't this the hamb? Can't I escape the daily minutae?

Don't we celebrate Tardel or would we rather pay homage to speedway's ability to get his part made cheaper in China.

**** I hate being gay and self righteous, but it sure as hell beats the chinese cast alternative.

Kentucky Whiskey. Garland TX weed. and steelies (until I can afford real american made aluminum wheels)

I should be smarter than to post this, but to see the "Hamb" turned into a *****filled flea market knocks me back a little.

  11. Hate to tell you this but, Your weed is likely a South American derivative!:D

The sad thing is, is that the US is making all those companies move out of the country with all the regulations on EVERYTHING!! I do not blame the big companies for moving to places like mexico ETC., you cannot fart without the EPA trying to take a pollution test!!!

I just called JEG'S back and they gave me the backspacing, so hopefully they have not been discontinued.

I like them. Traditional looks with modern strength.

Thinking about putting a set on my tow vehicle.

If you like 'em, use 'em. It don't matter what anyone else says.

your the one that has to be happy with 'em.

so it's OK for us to get poisoned by big companies?
the reason they move out of the U.S.A. is CHEAP LABOR,always has been, always will be
    you are a dumb***.

  22. I was able to order the ones on my roadster with custom back spacing, it cost about $50.00 extra each wheel.

I wanted a 8 inch wheel with about 5.5 inches of back spacing. The salt flats look wrong when they are too deep.

BFG silvertowns with blackwalls, the fronts were a bfg but not silvertown. I bought them thru coker.
I ran these back tires for about two months before going to a 15x8 slick, those tires didnt not hook up at all and it was a joke with the gas pedal.
