Im lookin at a 1965 ford galaxy and its a 2 door hard top. Ive heard the frames rust out really bad on this year, ive checked out the frame and no rust. The body is decent but it has a few big holes around the rear window. The guy wants 600 for it, it has a 352 big block with 3 spd auto trans. The motor runs fine and the trans shifts good, I just want to hear some opinions on either to get it or not, or if its even worth getting.

Crazy not to get, especially at that price.
If it isn't something you want, paint it,fix it up,sell it and make some money.
But,throw those hubcaps as far as you can.

If you think 600 is too much offer 500.... make sure you get a clear title and the vin's match!

Part it out if you don't wanna fix it up!!! :D

  5. The valve covers alone are worth a hundred or more. Sounds like a good deal to me. It will cost more next year...

Triple check the frame for rust near the rockers, and where it curves around the rear axle. But either way, that is a killer price! 65s are so cool, it would be great as a stock car for the street.

If the frame is good and it indeed runs and has a title I'd say that's an absolute steal. I've got way, way more cars than I can deal with right now but I'd have to buy that car for 6 bills if it were available to me.

You could go hot rod style on that car with Cragars and a rake or you could go 60's lowrider style on Supremes with wild paint, either way works. '65 will keep you out of some of the traditional shows but for the money it's worth that sacrifice.

A 2 door, big block anything in that kind of shape has to be worth $600.00
and it's a Ford to boot!!!!

I agree with whats been posted. Worth $600 as a parts car. Also, if you buy to part if out, the kick panels and the trim along the door opening and rear side panels is plastic - the part that covers the pinch weld and tucks under the door sill trim. If they are not cracked or broken...bring good money as well.

Here is my old 66. They make a great looking ride with little work....the right tires and wheels and ride height adjustment and you got a good looking car!

Just saw your post on the chrome reverse wheels.....I paid close to $300 for a vintage set for my '60 Galaxie project. If they are even remotely good, you should snap this car up ASAP! To much on/with this car to NOT buy it!

Hell, for $600, bad frame or not, if emmer effer is driveable, drive it til it breaks, THEN part it out. Enjoy!

Go and get it NOW ! The rust on those is an easy fix , the base of the rear window and the frame / rocker below ,very typical of ford 2 door this period an later and that carb is worth $600 , over here that is ... sigh , I'd fall over myself to give a grand for it .

You could probably pull the engine and trans then sell the body for what you paid for it...

Its in middletown ohio, I would hate to see it go to the shredder!!! Gonna try to sell some guns to buy it!!

  27. I doubt he is serious about taking it to the shredder. Thats just to get you nervous. Scrap is up but I doubt he would get 550 as scrap plus only a dumb ass would scrap the car with the wheels, valve covers and carb worth so much. But just in case he is that dumb, post his contact info here.....:D

hes gonna pull the motor and all the useful parts and scrap the carcass!!! and scrap is 290 a ton here!!! I dont think hes bluffing either!

  29. I could drain the fluids and take it to a scrapper here and get $303 a ton, so is it worth $600? Yes. To some guys it's just metal and they don't give a shit what the parts are worth.

How much cash do you have? Take whatever you have and ask if he'll take it as a deposit, then ask how much time it'll buy you to come up with the rest.

Sounds like he's low on space and wants to move it ASAP?
