Amish style Hot Rodding goes back further than 1951. My grandmother has scars on her legs from falling of the wagon frame on the way to school. Seems her older brothers took the body of the frame in the search for more speed. My grandmother & her sisters had to sit on the frame rails, my grandmother fell off in a corner & ended up on a barbed wire fence. This would have been in rural Saskatchewan in 1931.
I just saw some of those Amish hot rodders, they had their roadster out! (excuse my stand up paddle board paddle sticking out the window, I had to work fast!)

street racing video was great. the video of them helping the semi was neat too. they are a intresting sub culture of ours.. i hear they can use ****ons now too. woohoo. they are very good at the crafts that seem to be dying out. rock on amish.. amish paradise!! chris.
gosh no one has asked for results of this early race doubt if any pictures were taken if so they are true hell bound hot rodders if they win they have to marry the 9 year old trophy queen.. AHRA FOUNDERS when going to the IOLA swap we slowed to take pics of a Amish buggy near the caution road sign they put up for them.... just afer they trotted by a new prowler slowed too we missed the pic of both side by side tho ...how many pics out on winding road of these two can there be...
They've obviously had something going on for a long time now. You don't make tyres like this for no reason
I was hoping this was going to be about the Black Bumper do***entary. There has been a video trailer on the net for a few years, I have been looking forward to viewing the completed film. If have not heard of it check it out, it is pretty cool.
How could I miss this. Like Tman mentioned I'm not Amish but I am a Mennonite. Back when I was in high school I knew some Amish guys who would take their horse and buggy to a remote barn, change into their street cloths, and jump in their Chevelle and hit town. Yeah it was hopped up. I usually say that my buggy has more horses than others.
My closest neighbors are Amish. They mind their own business, they take great care of the their land, they are self reliant, self sufficient and support their families without asking the government or others for help. They really helped me out when I had surgery and couldn't put up my hay crop, at some considerable inconvenience to themselves. They're easy to make fun of, because they are different, but to do so is pretty lame and definitely immature. Not your best effort, Ryan.
5 window, I just read this whole thread and agree with you. But. It is the HAMB and this kind of **** you will find here........
Wow, I am appauled you guys are joking at the Amish and Mennonite's. You should be poking fun at us Kansas boys, right Paul? We can take a joke. I' have been called everything from trailer trash to Toto. C'mon, loosen up. Guess I'm getting old. Best jokes I ever told were about myself. Remember, forgiveness. Lippy
...It seems through humor some folks learned something about the Amish, I bet the word Amish has never been searched so much in one day.
