don't resort to violence. just ignore the guy, no reason to get in trouble with the donut eaters, or worse yet his cousin vinny.

 

I have a buddy that was a know it all like that. Didn't rant, but embarr***ed me and my
wife one time at a car show. Started talking about how ****py someone's paint was. I
know I turned bright red.. I just started talking the car up, and said that it looked good,
and tried to just keep walking and move on. The guy knows everything about everything
sometimes, but didn't do anything. If he was a painter, then yeah, maybe he knew
what he was talking about, but he has never shot paint.. so.. he should have just
kept his opinion to himself.

Yes, but it's fun to talk about.

 

I'd get a good quality video of the guy opening his yap and talking smack. Then YOU walk on camera and read the guy the riot act as the crowd laughs at this joker. I mean hit him with both barrels until he can't help but walk away then follow him as he walks...

Then let him know he can see it on YouTube later that night and then post it here too.

Then have ALL the local guys can go up to him when they see him and say "Hey I know you... you're the guy who got his balls handed to him at the cruise night!!"

Public humiliation is a wonderful thing for those who deserve it. And this guy clearly deserves it.

 

My favorite reaction to someone like that it to laugh at them; loudly. Then keep laughing and also start pointing at them. Act like you've just heard a 4 year-old tell a joke. Laugh like every word out of his mouth is the stupidist thing you've ever heard.

 

I feel for you having to deal with idiots....probably frustrated cause his wife wanted to clean and kicked him out of the house so he couldn't sit on the couch, eat potato chips and watch the Flintstones on TV...He's never tried to build anything because he trashes everything he ever attemped to fix or modify. So, he takes his frustrations out on others. Even if you told him he was a *****....he would be looking around to see who you were talking to...lol

 

We like your car. ....and that's what really matters!

 

Unfortunately, if you go to enough shows..there is always someone that will rear his/her ugly head and act like a jerk....make comments, etc.

Had a similiar situation. I told they guy I would sell him the car and he could do what he wanted with it. He mumbled that he could not afford it and shut up.

 

now as some one that in the past has had a historically bad temper I can understand your urges to vent about this but if there is one thing I have learned over the years is that the only thing that comes from negativity is more negativity...

The only thing you can do about what some one else does is how you choose to react to it.

and while you may currently feel vindicated all you are doing is keeping the negativity going for yourself.

feeling anger is a valid human emotion esp when some other person is being an unjustified d-bag, but think of how much of your day has been spent thinking about this guy?

I wonder how much of his day has been spent thinking about you and your bumper brackets?

you need thicker skin , if you let mr m***ingil , and anyone else upset you over your car , bummer , opinions are like a**holes and everyone has one , just because this no cl*** D/B didnt keep his to himself is no reason to want to sell a car , go and enjoy the show ,and decent like minded folk and maybe next time he will have taken his medication and be in a mellower mood like Bill cosby used to say , some folks are like school on saturday ... no cl***

In all my years on this earth I have come to the realization that most people are decent. That's why the ***holes stand out so much when they make idiotic comments like this. And that is why they are so offensive, because most people would never think of acting like this, even if they didn't like someone's car.
I understand how and why decent people ruminate over something like this, but whenever this happened to me a deceased friend,Richie,used to say, "You're letting that ****-head live in your head rent free!"
Although I understand Richie's philosophy,from time to time I will run across someone that is such an ***hole that I have a strong desire to shove a hot poker up their ***!

The consumate ***hole......Although it hurts us to have Mr.A-HOLE comment,and we take it personably,try this for fun,and elbow the hubby and tell him-"watch this"....
Next time- join the group and start commenting negativelly about your car. Get em' going.Say things like why the hell would someone do this,or that.What a piece! Who would drive this? etc.....
Then-pull the trigger! Jump in,fire that baby up and give a big smile!
And don't forget to say thanks for the laughs!
Have your camera ready,'cause the look you'll get will be "priceless"!
Done it several times,and it's rewarding to say the least! Don't get down on this-Mr A-HOLE is at many events and is in different places.

5,6 sindrome. We went to a cruse in one night and started to back in a parking place and this guy runs out and says [ only corvettes can park here ] We found another place and parked. as we were walking around the lot there was about 12 corvettes parked in a row. the only difference was the colors. the guy was setting at his corvette telling 3 or 4 guys how special it was. my wife said how she liked the color on his car and I told her loud enough for him and his friends to hear. [If you like it we can sell our coupe and buy a couple of them.] Nuff said

 

I was reading a post this morning about customs. One of the posters basically said that a custom build could be perfect however if there was one thing wrong with it ,in his opinion it wasn't worth looking at ( or something to that effect) . In my mind that guy and your guy are from the same mold...just that your guy maybe was dropped on his head a few more times.

You've spent to much time worrying about this D-bag....And now so have I. don't let him get to you. The biggest upset for someone like that is to not care and walk away.

 

when I run into one of these "experts" at one of the few shows I go to I jump right in and agree with him. Not only do I agree, but I take it a step further by finding even more fault than he did. We'll stand there bashing my car, really going at it. ****ty work, unsafe, wrong color, wrong year, wrong car, wrong everything. Finally, I reach in and rip out the shift lever and hand it to him. "Here you keep the best part, ok?" I wink. "But I wouldn't let him see you with it, I think he carries a gun."
***hole drops the lever, and leaves a vapor trail exiting the show.
And if he doesn't, I carry a spare.
