I guess everyone would like to respond to bull-shit threads, not relating to cars... I should have re-worded my tittle...

[I bought a poly one from Summet and put it in the trunk of my Olds. the only gripe I have is they tend to cave-in . I wish I would have spent the extra money and bought a metal one.

I have one in the trunk of my 1950 Ford, but if i had to do it again I would have not used it. I can't even fit my mini-bike into the trunk, now

I had an ATL one in a metal can sunk inthe trunk. If I did it again i would go for the early Mustang tank. I did the cell 'cause I had it.

I used to have one made by JAZ that was pretty cool, it came with a sending unit installed so I could use my gas gauge.

I was looking into that option before deciding to boil out the rusty insides of my stock tank... I heard good/bad things both... loss of trunk space bothered me, there has to be a good barrier between the trunk compartment and backseat or fumes will gas ya' out, never ever ever try and put any rear shelf speakers in or you'll be blown to the moon.... hmmm, can't even remember the good points now.

  9. I had a poly one (don’t remember the brand it was a donor) in my stockcar. I’m a bit paranoid when it comes to things catching fire so I built a metal box and caged it, beyond what the rules asked for. They may need some sort of baffling and that stuff can crumble to dust over time, just check it once a year. I considered one for my Merc when the trunk floor got so bad the stock tank dropped out, but opted to weld a bracket in reuse the old tank. Personally I would cage a trunk tank on a daily but that’s just me. Also venting may be an issue but that again is up to you. I know vented and non-vented tanks are available. I don’t like the thought of fumes and electrical components being so close in an enclosed space. Just my .02 bits on the safety side of things.

Ya should have started by saying fuck fuel calls or something. Anyway's I'm gonna run a mustang tank in mine. fabbin up a 3/4 inch fram to drop it into. flush floors and room for bags. Plus I can pull it out and I'll have a big ol acces hole to service the bags.

    Good luck.
