I've been swapping a newer 360 magnum engine into the 59 Plymouth suburban. With the engine in place using the stock mounts and the aftermarket air gap 4 bbl intake it puts the air cleaner a lot higher. Not sure how I'm going to be able to keep it under the hood. I was trying to keep it looking like an early sixties car so a hood scoop would probably look wrong. That and I'm not wild about cutting a hole in the hood. I might not have a choice Any suggestions?
This is a 1995 magnum engine. The only 4 bbl intakes are air gaps. That and the HAMB drags are upon us and I need her to pull the digger.
I got one of these, cheap and looks good. Great for what you need, I was in same situation. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chro...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item415bbb0498

I used an aftermarket dropped base with the top half of a 383 dual snorkel on one of my old projects. Ended up being too low and had to use a 2" riser to clear the radiator hose.
olds 455 toronado, and probably the 307 models too. I got one I think, if I find it, you can have it.
not sure how much room you have but i've made them using a one of those triangular edelbrock air filter and cutting it up and just putting it inside the base of a small round filter base.
