Not quite on topic, but I too had a transaction with a non-HAMB hot rodder, Paul, that made my day. A couple weeks ago I saw an add on a web site called KSL Deals. It was for a mid '30's flathead truck generator/fan ***y. for $20.00. I called the fellow, and he told me he was going to junk it that weekend, and that I could have it for the shipping. I have always tried to give people the benefit of the doubt, so when he called me back with a shipping quote, $30.00, I mailed him a money order. I figured the odds were 50/50 at best that I'd ever see the generator, but I've been looking for that long fan, and I just didn't want to become even more su****ious and cynical. Well, the generator/pulley/cut out/fan arrived yesterday, all in excellent shape. I called Paul to let him know that it had arrived and to say thanks. He said it had actually cost a few dollars more for a box, but he hated to throw it away. I told him about the HAMB, and he said he would list future items here. Hot rodders rule!
Tell him to do an intro and maybe post a few things, or he will catch hell from the peops that think he only came on here to sell. He would be selling on here to help rodders out, but they would think he was on here just to scam us. Too bad good people like this are suspected of ulterior motives because of the few jerks that really are. It makes it hard for the mods to know who is a helpful new seller and a scammer new seller. Yes, we even have a-holes on the HAMB. Thankfully we have a good community that quickly takes care of them.
Just got uncle max the stromberg guy to bail me out of a carb mess i made.the great people of the h.a.m.b. And ford barn came through for me again.thanks max.-ray
