Is there a market for used 6 V. car radio vacuum tubes?

    I have some out of my 49 Merc radio and would prefer not to throw them out if someone could use them.

    Unless they are N.O.S. and still in the box, probably worthless.
    I wouldn't pay the postage to get them free.

    There is some market, post them on the Antique Radio Forum. There are guys on there who specialize in antique car radios.

    Think about it...no one makes them any more, you can't just run down to the corner radio repair shop and buy new ones. If they're still good, don't throw them out - someone out there can probably use them.

    Actually the tubes can be used in radios that are converted to 12 volt in some cases . They will burn out pre maturely though . Still, if they're still good and the "Heaters ", uh the parts within the tube carry current through all the pins , yes , by all means save them . scrubba
