Not a HAMB friendly car but before and after. Not my car nor does it belong to anyone I know. There is purchase cost and freight, I hope he had insurance. Everyone I know uses a container, not RORO. You wonder why us Ozzie gets worried when we entrust our new pride and joy to someone else to deliver, irrespective of what it is. Photos of damage speak for themselves. It was a pristine numbers matching 1979 Special 10th Anniversary Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with 78K original miles. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260835536292&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:AU:1123
That damage doesn't appear to have all happened in the same event. I never knew about roll on roll off shipping until a mate used it recently. I think I'll stick with containers. **** can still happen but that has got to be heart breaking.
looks like the duke boys stole the bandits car and tried to jump the boat. Holy **** is that terrible. Look at the other cars as well. No tie down straps at all. Think of how many cars were in the boat too
Click on the ebay link, there are pictures in the ad that appear to show the car parked in the belly of the ship with NO type of tie down method used - just the car parked in the ship. It appears that the ship hit some very rough seas and the cars (there are several damaged ones in the pics) slid around banging into one another repeatedly. ****ty situation for the owner expecting to see his mint new (old) car arrive.
I wish there was video of it. I would love to see all those cars sliding around and crashing into each other. If you look at the pictures you can see some flimsy tie downs. Hope they are insured.
