Anyone know what year this Plymouth Truck is? Thinking about saving it. Frame rotted and not much left of body.

    Thanks,

Are they rare? Is it worth saving? It's just about a pile of rust. Frame has rust out on it but could be cut out and sectioned to save. Parts hard to find?

We have a 37 dodge in the shop right now that looks very similar! Your picture is pretty small, so it's sort of hard to see all the sheet metal details...

What years were these trucks made?

  8. It has to be a 37-38. The upper part of a 35-36 windshield frame is flat while a 37-38 has a curved top.

Plymouth made pickups '37-'41. The shell in the one pictured looks like a '38 with the grill bars missing. The '37 radiator shell did not come out as far at the top as the '38.

  10. ^^^x2. Definitely NOT a '39 - '41. My '41 is my avatar. The '39 - '40 look like mine, but there are minor differences. The earlier trucks have many very obvious differences to the later ones, and are evident when placed together.

It's a '37 or '38 for sure. The grille is the only real difference, but its hard to tell because of the angle and size of the picture. The grille opening on the '37 is much taller, the '38 had a shorter grille, the lower section of the grille shell sloped down and forward to match the front fenders.

From the picture I'm leaning toward a '37. The grille shell looks bent, but the opening looks like the taller '37 style. But its a pretty small picture.

As far as worth saving, I'd say yes! I'm biased though. I have a '37 Dodge, I think they have the best lines of any of the '30's trucks. And if its a Plymouth, its even more rare.

It will fit nicely on a 112" wheel base ranger (or perish the thought Mazda 3000) frame. power as you please.

I may be all wet here but it looks like a 37-38 by the firewall the 36 was straight across (no motor indentation) plus the gas filler on the 36 was below the drivers feet inside the cab the 37-38 exited the cab at the rear corner drivers side.

I am looking for and original engine for my 37. Serial number on left side of block starts with T50, also front and rear fenders, and grill insert and center brace. As well as a seat. That to start with, haha.
