Also this car did not have the push ****on transmission for which '64 was the last year. I too have a real soft spot for these, having had both a '63 and a '64 in years past. Both were great cars and were driven for years with virtually no problems.
actually 66 was the first year they stopped using the push ****on transmission. the 65 doesn't have actual push****on shifting, but a column or floor shifter that makes it look like a non push****on trans... found it out the hard way. was looking to put a shifter on the floor only to find out nothing matches for the push****on trans...
I used to tear around in a 64 Canadian Valiant (Dodge Dart from the cowl back and Valiant front fenders and grill). I loved that car and always wanted to build the slant6 to a Hyperpak spec.
Guys, the little orange 64 Valiant in post #26, the middle picture, the car is called the Orange Crate. I know where this car is and it is for sale. There is no engine or ****** in the car. It last ran with a 383 and a 727 transmission it it. It has a FOMOCO steering box and what I believe to be the straight axle out of an old Ford Econoline Van under the front. I have alot of pictures of this car, inside, outside, top, trunk, engine bay and undercarriage if anyone is interested. You can contact me at Honkytonkitis@comcast.net I am going to list it for sale on Ebay tonight, (08-21-11). The starting bid will be $1000.00. If interested, give me a shout and I will send more info. Thanks, Mo
