The car is cool but he could do better on the burn out I'd think. I'll need to check the sight and his stuff more thoroughly, I'm interested in how much people are willing to pay him for these. And I thought drawing cartoons wasn't 'real' work; if he's making a living doing that, I may have to consider a career move... Ha Ha!!

A long time ago, I built a pro/stock Dodge Monaco, cop car, I took some cork and a hockey puck to some smooth concrete to create tire marks. I grabbed some cotton balls and pulled
and stretched them until it really looked like smoke. Kinda like that cob web stuff you get at Halloween time. I stretched it around the tire and created the 'cloud' behind the car and snapped off a bunch of shot with my trusty little Kodak 110, instamatic. Because of the graininess of the film, one head on shot came out and looked so real it fooled people. I've never duplicated that effect and, sadly, long since lost the pictures. May have to try again some time...

My better guess is that there are those who would like to have a model built to see what the Big car would look like, just like the sketches.
I would also hazard a guess there are those who would like to have a scale model to display with the real car at shows.
Might never replace the cry bbies, but would look great sitting on an air cleaner or in the rear window package tray.
    Or in the garage display.

Yea. I did have a guy hire me to build him a 50 Fleetline. He paid me 100 bucks. Another, Paid about 100 and bought me a duplicate kit. For him, I converted a '69 Chevelle into a '68. It was right at the time Revell released the '68 El Camino so I cut that front clip into an AMT '69, kit bashed the interior parts and modified the rear end. It turned out way better than I could have imagined; I even surprised myself. I don't know how I found time to do that, looking back. They were into it just because they love cars and wanted something custom built. It was a cool experience. I should see if I can get pictures of the Chevelle.

Back to messing around with the '41 Plymouth again (just when I was about ready to say it was finished and move on..LOL). Decided to swap the 6 for the V8 that came with the kit. This started out as a partially built kit from ebay. The previous builder had installed the 6 cyl. At least it came unpainted (exterior anyway) with everything intact and the instruction sheet.

I decided to build my own "dropped spindles" for the front.

Photo below shows the modification on another unbuilt kit.

If you flop the spindles the steel axle won't clear the front x-member or engine, so I inserted a couple of cut down finishing nails and installed the spindles upside down. The front wheels don't roll anymore but oh well. Taking the front suspension apart took its toll on the upper spindle mounts due to some heavy gluing by the old builder, so I just built some new ones from Evergreen styrene.

Couldn't really lower the back since the previous builder had cut off the upper lowering option sections on the rear springs. I tried bending the springs "up" but only succeeded in breaking them so I went for the old style '60s California "rake". Since I took everything apart again, I'll probably paint the aprons and firewall body color as opposed to the previous owners gloss black.

And speaking of ebay built models, here's a couple of fun shots of a '58 Impala I got as part of a lot. Decided to pose an anime' keychain "Lum" figure with it.
