Here's a link to an auction this weekend in Corsica SD. Tons of cars. Wish I could go. Hope some Hambers pick up some. www.vanderbrinkauctions.com/auctions_details.php?detail=89&allimages=NO
no kidding. they would have done better breaking them up over a few months or trying to sell some online.
Corsica, SD isn't a metro area, but then again, it isn't in the middle of nowhere, either. Plus those farmers in the north central US have had some pretty good years lately, so there'll be plenty of money spent.
why can't you go Newbe?? you could take a bunch of pictures! better yet, you could call me when some thing is cheap!!
Agree^^^^^^^Those cars will bring good money. Most will go out of state. Some folks think we are dumb bumpkins judging by the replies.
Some dealer is gonna show up with a PILE of cash and be bidding on everything. That's what I used to do back when I had a car lot. Estate Auction? Big estate sale? $500 plane ticket, $4000 for a truckload back to Florida... did it a couple times.
With the price of corn, soybeans, wheat being what it is, I'll bet there will be more than a few "farmers" there. The guy who am***ed this collection (which includes a full day of high $$$$$ tractors on Friday) made his fortune right where he was in South Dakota........not Wall St. ........except when trading in the futures market to lock in crop prices, fertilizer and fuel input costs.
I agree with BCR and Tman..... strong farm economy and way better than the average nationwide jobs situation up there......look for a strong sale at full retail or above! She's a very experienced auctioneer too.
I have been to several of her auctions and have seen it go both ways. Yvette is a great gal, and she knows her cars. She grew up in a car family and is still involved in the trade. She is out to save the old ones. I have bought a few cars at these sales and then I have been blown away by the turnout and the prices. I plan on going just to see what the market looks like. Even though I am too broke to pay attention. Looks like a damn good time to me. CJO13
My dad went, prices were high some really really high. Most of the cars were 20 footers, nice drivers but sold for fully restored prices.
