History '63 Buick convert factory removeable top?

    I just spent a few minutes talking with a guy whose brother had bought a '63 buick lasabre convertible that had a factory removable hardtop. anybody out there familiar with such a critter? guy i was talking with had been a buick dealer in mid to late 60's but unaware of it. as usual guys n gals thanx for your help larry

    never heard of such a thing. I would think it would be pretty heavy.

    I worked as a parts man at a Buick dealership in '63. I don't remember any removeable hard tops. However I think they offered a hard cover (boot) for use when the top was down. Might be what you are thinking of.

    Maybe it was a Carson top. I've never heard of that modern of car to have one but who knows.
     
  6. There were some aftermarket suppliers making fibergl*** hardtops for various cars in that era. Not factory, but I'm sure you could get one through some dealers.
