Should bring more than a 2-dr coupe and less than a convertible.

like anything, depends on a lot of things-condition, etc search lemonfree.com - going $20K+ and Hemmings Motor News $18K + rust and missing parts will bring the numbers way down-if you buy it post pics.

....Post pics even if you don't pick it up. That way we'll all know what kind of shape it is in. And let us know what they want for it. '51 Vickies are way kool and quite desireable. Did you know that they all started out as convertibles?:)

Being I own one of each and have had a full hands on experience with each I can tell you that information is a Myth not Fact. The Vicky is not built on a convert frame, the floor pan is considerably different, When you lift the roof skin off the windshield frame and remove the drip rail the receivers for the Vert top pins are not stamped in the sheet metal and no screw plates. There are no provisions for top ram mounts in the floor, or seat riser. The rear panel ahead of the trunk lid is totally different between the two. The doors do interchange on 1950 verts only, not 49 also, and I believe the rear quarter windows may be the same. Other than that they are the same,,kind of.

Buy an Old Car Price Guide mag and do some research.

  10. 15 Years ago I paid $2500.oo for the Vicky in my Avitar. It had been totally disasembeld including body off the frame. The Body had been lifted off by the Roof with a 4x4 through the window openings. Lots of stuff was missing or just plain destroyed by a Gas Ax or lack of care. It did however have a saving grace in that there was Zero rust anywhere. So I got a solid project and to boot the value was exchanged in a labor trade on another car of the prior owner, so the price didn't hurt,,,,,,to much. I'd do it all over again. You can't get much for $1500.oo that isn't rough to start with.
