Where is the best place to buy the super degreaser concentrate of Simple Green. I want to use it in my pressure washer to clean the grease of my 28 AA frame.

I remember the first time I saw the stuff, the demonstrator was drinking it to show that it is environmentally friendly!

Hey, I don't know if you have Dollar Stores, or Dollar Tree stores BUT they sell this stuff called Awesome. It's orange, in a frosted white bottle with red type. Anyway, it's every bit as good as simple green if not BETTER! And it's a buck. Check it out. It is literally Awesome.

Castrol Purple Power. Seems like the same stuff. Walmart, Advance Auto, Auto Zone.
That is here in PA. They also sell it in 2.5 and 5 gallon size. I mix it up 50/50 with water and throw old cast iron things in it that I sell in an antique shop. Old frying pans, apple peelers ect. Let stuff soak about a week it is bare clean metal. Watch your hands with full strength, it is pretty caustic. Also use in well ventilated area when full stength.I have used all the above products with the same results.

Are you sure it was SG? The spray alone from that **** makes me gag. It's a good cleaner otherwise.

X2 That stuff is "Awsome", and only costs a buck. Starting to love our new local Dollar General. Oil, brake fluid, cleaning chemicals, etc. is cheap there too. :D

That stuff is the best. No joke, I havent found anything better. Makes simple green look stupid.

Its actually 2 bucks, and more yellow than orange.

I thought for degreasing the dollar store oven cleaner was the best. Simple green is a great product for cleaning my ww.

  17. This stuff is very good, just don't spray it on your paint...

I use diluted simple green for dang near everything. I keep a chemical sprayer full for washing cars, parts, the garage floor, whatever. Works real good as a pre-wash for bugs on the front of cars. Then I keep a more conentrated spray bottle for other stuff. I have used it to install windshields with success.

Two things I've found: The "green" stuff from the dollar store ain't the same. Purple Power will eat your skin off (literally), you should have seen my Dad's fingertips.

Yep, and you won't feel it burning you until it is too late.

The best cleaner out is Formula 50 by Zep. The rest is garbage. F50 is very inexpensive too, and is bought in concentrate so 5 gallons can make 15 or 20 gallons.

Two words of caution about Simple Green...

Once I was putting together a new Triumph clutch and the manufacturer suggest soaking the fiber plates in Simple Green before installing. (can't remember why) Unfortunately the next morning when I went to pull them out of the container they were soaking in, there was nothing left but the plates the fiber was bonded to. They replaced the clutch at least. HAHA! So it DOES have some toxicity.

Second word, and maybe a no-brainer, don't clean aluminum parts with it that are intended to be welded. It will contaminate the weld.

Other than that, great stuff! We keep spray bottle of it around and buy the gallon jugs of it on a regular basis.
