235 remote oil lines

    i have a beehive remote oil filter i want to use with my 235 chevy,what size lines should i run? i was thinkin 3/8 ,it had some -4 braided line on it when i got it.also where can you get replacement elements for it?

    You could go with 3/8 or 1/4 if you are running a babbit 235.

    If you are running a full pressure, I would look a 1/4 lines to make sure you get the flow.

    its a 1955 235 ,there full pressure right?

    Yeah it is a full pressure engine. I got a fram filter form autozone.

    Remember if this is the stock style byp*** filter system there MUST be a 1/16 [.062] restricter fitting in the supply line. Otherwise you will starve the bottom end for oil. 1/4 " line is more than big enough.

    it was installed on the engine when i got it,where would the restricter be?the lines that were on it were leaking ,one was cracked.its not thekind that mounts to the intake.ill try to get pics up

    Byp*** was only on the babbit, not the full pressure? On mine they called it byp***, but did they call it byp*** also on the full pressure?

    Sorry I misread that you have a beehive filter cant help with that.
