Here in San Lorenzo California about 45 minutes from San Francisco we just felt an earthquake. 2 actually. One and an aftershock. About 11:35pm or so. Just wanted to see if anyone else in CA felt it as well..

    Thanks,

  2. Its on the NEWS all the way over here in Australia, Washington copped one as well. It was a 5.1 they said, some walls toppled but damage was 'mild'?
What the hell is 'mild' damage??..........
Hope everyone is OK and suffered no damage.

    Doc.

Seriously? Earthquakes in Colorado, then the east coast, and just now the west coast? Dang, hope everyone's all right. I hope this doesn't mean the mid-west is next.

Was it bigger than normal or a usual sized earthquake for California?

    Be safe, everyone.

According to USGS this one was just a 3.6, that's like experiencing a loud fart from a fat guy on the other end of a leather couch!:D

Mild damage [mahyld-dam-ij] (Noun) : when one ****s his pants.

Also known in the urban dictionary as a "Jail Break"

    Rich Fox,

Do you know Mike Fazio? Or Big John? The reason I ask is I see you have a salt flat racer, Mike used to own a record breaker from the 50's. And John is just a huge hot rodder of belmont and san mateo, John is also known as Mr.36 Ford. He knows everything there is to know about 36's. He used to Judge concours events.

Californians take those in stride, I was there for a 3.5 quake in 1984 or so.

If you go to the USGS site, they list quakes over I believe a 2.4 and there was a ****load of them in the US alone yesterday. Hawaii had one as well.

One of my US facebook friends just posted on their page that the earthquake was caused by your Founding Fathers all turning over in their graves.... :D

    Cheers, Glen.

Are you sure you should be posting this stuff here? I mean, are these HAMB friendly, period correct, traditional earthquakes? They could be rat earthquakes for all we know.

Wow - "just a 3.6" - that would terrify me. I live in England - nothing has moved here for years!

So I'm in Laguna Beach CA. one weekend about twenty years ago for a romantic get away with the then current Mrs. Quinn candidate. We wake up in the morning to the waves pounding on the beach out side and the sun shining, the coffee hot, and well, one thing leads to another and you can guess what we are up to... In the middle of doing what we are doing, I feel sort of a weird sensation, but not stopping, I look up at the T.V. hung from the wall on one of those wall hanger things and notice it's bouncing up and down. Of course I'm thinking "Damn I'm Goooodddd!!!" Then the T.V. hits the floor, then the coffee pot, then our luggage, then the framed art, then... Well, at least I can honestly say that once, I moved a womans world!

Mild damage, someone walks up to you and taps you on the arm with a baseball bat. Small bruise = minor damage.

Big swing with bat , broken arm = major damage.

Lots of other examples one can think of, not rocket science to figure out :D
