HEY GUYS I NEED SOME HELP WITH STRAIGHT AXLES.
I HAVE A SET OF 1954 FORD DRUM BRAKES WITH SPINDELS AND ALSO A STEERING BOX. I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD MAKE THIS SET UP WORK ON A CUSTOM STRAIGHT AXLE. I WAS LOOKING AT AN AXLE FROM SPEEDWAY MOTORS COMES WITH 6" DROP AXLE,SPRING OVER,AND RADIUS RODS FOR ABOUT $400.00. WOULD MY DRUMS WORK FOR THIS?I HAVE NEVER DONE A STRAIGHT AXLE SO I WOULD APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP I COULD GET! THIS IS ALL GOING ON A 1931 CHEVY PICK-UP .
IF THERE IS A BETTER SET UP THAT ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT PLEASE HELP THANKS:confused:

  2. If they are p***enger car stuff, they are not a bolt up to the early Ford spindles.

But the F-100 stuff for that year is ALMOST a bolt on... so try to hunt those parts down.

    Sam.

  4. Perfect! You're SET!

Check the archives or the Tech-o-matic for past "how-to articles on how it is done.

    Sam.
