Just when I just got done telling my friends that I've never seen anybody score huge at Auto Fair you show me this. Nice score!!!
I'm skipping this year (having left total shoulder replaced on Monday, had right one done 1.5 yrs ago) but should be on line for Moultrie in November.
Wow what a score on that english wheel. You can't even buy the hf unit for that. I went three days and only bought ten little pages and some door panel clips. At least I got in free.
First time for me, thanks to finally moving to E. Tn. Went through it all, twice, once Thursday and once Friday. My **** is draggin'! That is a SCORE on that wheel!! Didn't see it Thursday. One guy had a Mittler Bros bead roller, but it was sold. Met some HAMBers, scored a Brookville Model A pickup tailgate for $150, picked up the wood kit for my PU, scored on some Hunter alignment turntables for $50, scored on 6 frog mouth polished aluminum 97 scoops for $50, and found a bunch of '40 pieces at cheap prices. Got a cool old reciprocating hacksaw for $20! Went to Dennis Carpenter's compound today and scored on a bunch of parts and early Ford tools they had in their sale. I saw NO banger speed parts, some flattie stuff(heads and intakes) but a *****in pair of Potvin early hemi intake tubes for a front mounted blower! No price and the guy wasn't around! One guy had a couple of Desoto core motors, asking $650 for the pair. Like most swap meets today, there's less and less early Ford parts. and more and more Mustang, Camaro, Chevelle, etc. A sign of the times. Can't wait for April!
Hey hotrodA, I bought one of those Desoto engines that you were talking about. $300 for a 1955 Desoto 291 hemi, delivered to my doorstep. It is missing the oil pan and one of the con rods lost it's cap sometime in the past. Don't know if it caused any damage to the crank or block, but at this price, I couldn't see not buying it. Now, I just have to save up and get something to drop it in once it's rebuilt.
