Well ok, not really a funny story, for me at least, but about two weeks ago my girl and i were cruisin down this unmarked road on the way to go swing dancin, and the next thing i know this black and white is behind me, he follows me for about 5 minutes before he turns on his lights. Since i didnt know the speed limit on the street i thought i got pulled for a broken tail light, which i kinda have, but the guy approaches the car slowly with his hand on his gun. At this point im like '****', how the hell would i have a warrant when i didn't do anything. He asks for the usual, liscense, registration, and insurance, and waddles back to his car. Then he calls for me to get out of the vehicle, walk backwards toward him, and put my hands on the trunk; and yup, u quessed it, i got searched, and again, '****' was the only thing goin through my mind. When he was done feelin me up he led me to the back of his cruiser and asked what i was doin, 'Well, that pretty little thing in the front seat there and i are on our first date, we're goin swing dancin'. 'Well boy, i pulled u over because i "clocked" u goin 30 in a 25', which had i known it was 25 i would have gladly driven 25, but since i've lived in this town i've always gone 30 on it, probably didn't help that my car stands out like a sore thumb, 'And it also seems that u are violating the permit period of ur driving liscense by carrying p***engers.' Wo-wo, what, permit period, what the hell, i thought that once u got it u got it, god damn im am so gonna get f-ed in the a here. He proceeds to give me TWO tickets and says i gotta go to court, o yea, and for his finale, he made my date walk home, or he thoughthe did, i called a friend and they picked her up, but i got sent home with my tail between my legs. O and did i mention this happened on a friday night, so no weekend for me. Anyway, now to the reason im writing this, i got my summons today and i've been doin some research on how badly im screwed, looks like it'll be anywhere from a 30 day to full year suspension with an ***load of fines for me, yip-e. So i've been thinkin of things to do while im suspended, u know, ways to get back at the cops in my own special LEGAL way, and i think i got it. Since im gonna have to sell my car anyway to pay the fines im definetly gonna get slapped with, i wanna use whats left, if any, to buy a T coupe and drop a big cube engine in front of it, and try to keep everything on it just bearly legal, u know, keep it fun and scary and loud. My plan right now is if i get the 30 day suspension, which i pray for every night, and involves a lot of thrashin, and if any of u guys up here in nor-cal can offer any help during that time, or right now, it would be greatly appreciated. This will be my first ground up hot rod and i'll need all the help i can get. Go ahead and post on here any tips, or call me at 707-280-7920, or send me a pm with anything thats on ur mind. If it's your first you should get off with the minimum, unless you piss off the judge or something. Maybe the donut face won't show and you can stroll.
Make it your lifes goal to get even with the cops and you wont have to worry about a car. all you'll need to know is, Visitation is on Saturday ,prison Rodeo is in August
Yea Im sorry, that whole post was worded wrong. Im not really that pissy kind of person, guess im just mad at how i ****ed myself over. Sorry it came out the wrong way. I'd like to use this time to reflect on how dumb i've been and build the cool little hot rod i've day dreamed about for a long time. And it's a mildly customized '66 merc comet thats been primed and scalloped. It's a good core car and is more then ready to be more substanially customized. It was a project for my dad and i and would make a great father/son for someone else. Again. i'd like to apologize for the less then tolerent at***ude of my previous post, it really isn't who i am.
The nerve of that cop, expecting you to know the restrictions on your license, and the speed limit when it is not marked. (where I live, if it's not marked, it's 25 mph). Just out of curiosity, where were you going to go dancing?

if the road was not posted with the speed then you should walk away from this. but if its a KNOWN deal that the town speed limit is 25 then your goona get fined, I hire a lawyer for even the small of small, if you beat them enough times they start to leave you alone 'cause yer not an easy target anymore. and a bumper sticker that says "suppoet your local police dep" will usually cut ya slack, I had a few made years ago and damne dif it didnt work out good for me. look at your tickets, should have teh officers name on it. Call the police station every day and ask to speak with officer "Smith" when you call and they respond he is not there. Note which day that falls on, then call the court house and ask to reschedule the court date for that day, say it is due to work, school, etc. You have a better chance of the officer not showing on his day off, They will often schedule the date on a day the officer is on duty. If you go to court, ask for prrof that the radar had been calibrated that day. Ask for a copy of written proof that it had been done. Many times the police are in a hurry and will not calibrate the radar as often as possible, if it has not been calibrated they can not be sure it is correct. Hope that helps, mostly just use common sense and be courteous to the police whether you like them or not. Nice, honest and friendly can get you a long way. (Dads a cop) Paul

Hopefully good karma will keep an eye on me, but if not, i put myself in this situation, and i'll grit my teeth and get through it. It'll give me a chance to improve my car and get in better shape walkin around, should probably try to dig up the ol' bike again. Again, thanks for the support, u guys are awesome. P.S.
